Your vehicle to lower emissions
........................................................................................................
Natural gas vehicles, or NGVs, look and perform like any other vehicle. The difference is, NGVs operate on natural gas as opposed to petroleum-based fuel. This also makes NGVs the cleaner-burning alternative that produces significantly lower emissions.
NVGs typically use one of two varieties of natural gas: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) or Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). Heavy-duty NGVs with significant weight and range requirements typically fuel up on LNG, which allows them to store more fuel on board with less tank weight.
More and more NGVs on the road today are factory-built by such leading manufacturers as Ford, Honda, GM and Chrysler. Thanks to the increasing availability and accessibility of NGVs, buying a natural gas vehicle is not much different than buying a gasoline- or diesel-fuelled vehicle. Here is a sampling of the different types of NGVs being manufactured today.
