Funding Program

A critical component of the California Natural Gas Vehicle Partnership, the Funding Program identifies areas in need of funding as well as amounts of funding required to achieve various Program objectives. The Funding Program additionally identifies and secures the sources for funding among public and private enterprises. As part of their responsibilities, program participants will:

• Identify existing funding sources for the development, demonstration and deployment of NGVs and infrastructure.
  
  
• Coordinate with other Programs to determine the amount and sources of funding required for Program initiatives.
  
  
• Outline a specific action plan to encourage the legislature and Congress to dedicate funding for alternative fuels.
  
  
• Coordinate efforts to secure additional sources of funding.

With the rising cost of petroleum-based gasoline and diesel fuel, tougher emission standards and the growing public demand for better environmental policies, natural gas vehicles provide an attractive alternative with a multitude of key advantages.
